NiseMIDI Doro no Kai’s (the circle name of the well known artist Ishikei) main Comiket 76 offering, MikanAL, is likely among the more sought out and lusted after books to come from the event, featuring To Love-Ru’s youthful imouto Yuuki Mikan in Ishikei’s distinctive style.
Sankaku Complex’s own Quen has turned his expert hand to a translation of the short book as a send-off for the recently cancelled To Love-Ru series – hopefully bereaved fans can find at least a little solace amongst the pages of yet another Ishikei doujinshi.
The entire doujinshi can be read here on the Channel, in what is almost certainly the best quality scan available of the book online so far.
Some may find the Channel’s translation interface confusing – remember to click on the image to turn the transparent mouseover boxes on or off.
Unfortunately a full scanlation was not doable, so anyone with the requisite image editing skills may feel free to typeset the pages properly, or use the translation as basis for their own scanlation.
Last of all, thanks must be extended to artist Ishikei (official website) for producing this fine work of art.
A doujin circle was recently forced to pull its assortment of ero-figures during Comiket 76 for being too hot for sale there.
As the figures are still readily available through shops such as Tora no Ana however, the opportunity to inspect what exactly it takes to be banned from the Comiket is too good to pass up…
The figures are the products of 希馬屋 / Keumaya, originally a more typical doujinshi maker before focusing on producing ero-figures that are sold at doujin events and via consignment shops.
During the August 14-16 event, this notice was placed on the Keumaya website, edited for brevity and translated below:
Notice of Comiket Figure Sale Supension
Due to the inappropriateness of Keumaya figures’ nether regions (i.e., crotch, groin), the sale of the figures at this year’s Natsucon has been suspended.
Taking into consideration the bother caused to the Comiket Preparation Comittee, special attention will be paid in the future to ensure that something of this manner does not occur a second time.
Again, I would like to apologize here for the nuisance caused to the gentlemen that had to come to the Keumaya circle booth.
Furthermore, the sales suspension only affects Comiket.
The plans for consignment sales at Tora no Ana for Chou-Kangofu (Super Nurse) Kotone-chan and Aku Mashi (Evil Witch Girl) Normal Ver. will continue as planned.
Plans for what to do with the event-exclusive GAL Mashi figure are still undecided.
News of the figures being banned from sale at Comiket encouraged one figure fan to order two of the figures being sold at the event for a closer look.
These are the 悪魔子（ノーマル） / Evil Witch Girl (Normal) on the left, and 超看護婦ペインキラー琴音ちゃん / Super Nurse Painkiller Kotone-chan on the right.
Kotone-chan also came with a small ero-doujinshi as a furoku, a sample page of which can be found near the bottom of this article.
Both figures look to be of a very good build quality, although the large-breasted Witch’s face might be off-putting to most.
The unassembled state the figures are sold as shows the detail paid to the girls’ ero features, which leads to the reason for the figure’s removal from Comiket:
As can clearly be seen in the above images (censored by the blogger), the Keumaya figures’ loins are indeed more detailed than the norm; more typically this area is either left less obvious or even bare, covered by a non-removable piece of clothing through which pubic outlines are hinted at.
It is not a surprise that the figure was removed from the Comiket – the especially ero figures of this sort are typically reserved for figure-only events where the decency guidelines for figures are more lax, though of course it raises the question of why differences between the events exist…
In any case, the figures are quite accomplished for doujin products, especially Kotone-chan here, and their banning by the Comiket authorities can only add to their allure.

Major otaku stores (Tora no Ana, Melonbooks, etc.) frequently display lists of their Top 10 bestselling doujinshi, but the most watched rankings are always the ones in the weeks following Comiket.
As Comiket 76 ended last week, there is the interesting opportunity to inspect these doujinshi rankings from three major Akihabara shops – Tora no Ana, Messe Sanoh and Melonbooks.
These rankings come via Akiba Hobby, which regularly keeps weekly records of such rankings.
These lists only apply to a specific brick and mortar store’s inventory (i.e., online sales excluded), and due to the underground nature of doujinshi publishing and the vagaries of the consignment system typically used to sell the books in these stores a huge discrepancy is obvious between the different store’s rankings, despite their relative proximity to each other.
Nonetheless, each of these stores have hundreds of different titles on hand at any given time, and their common customer base made up of the denizens of Akiba means these rankings should give some insight into C76 doujinshi are proving to be among the most popular now that all doujin stores are well stocked with books from the event.

As expected, Comiket 76’s final Day 3 surpassed Day 1’s record-breaking number of attendees, bringing in over 200,000 pilgrims who braved the sweltering summer heat to come to the semiannual otaku Mecca for the event’s most ero-heavy day.
This means the reported figure for total C76 attendance over its three days is a whopping 560,000 (roughly 4.5% of the population of Tokyo, the world’s most populous metropolitan area), beating last year’s summer Comiket 74’s piddling 550,000.
Day 3, the event’s most attended and well-known, is often known as the “H” or “ero” day, being the date when the male-oriented 18+ ero doujinshi products are most concentrated.
Over 11,000 different doujinshi circles were in attendance on Day 3, not counting the many professional illustrators and company booths that normally remain open all three days.

The Fuyucon, this Winter’s Comiket 77, is scheduled for December 29 – 31 and will likely pull in a slightly smaller number of attendees, but at least will provide some comfort from the legendarily brutal summer heat of the Natsucon.
Comiket 76, this summer’s August event of the twice annual otaku mega-convention in Ariake has broken its already massive attendance records on its first day, with a reported figure of 180,000 attendees, on a blisteringly hot August 14, topping last year’s C74 by 10,000.
Comiket has long been famed for its absurdly crowded conditions, multi-hour queues and the endless throngs of people whose otaku devotion allows them to put up with these unsavory conditions, so a new one-day attendance record is none too surprising.
Conservative estimates put the expected number of attendees at this Natsucon (Summer Comiket) as at least 500,000 attendees, although that number may well be exceeded given the obvious wave of attendees witnessed yesterday.
Ero “H” content is of course present in some level on all three days at the Comiket, but Day 3 (Sunday, August 16) is the main day for H and historically draws a significantly bigger crowd than Day 1, so it is likely we will see C76 break its attendance record yet again later this weekend.
